Ghillie Brogues

Kilt Accessories

Kilt shoes were originally used or called as brgues and sandals worn by highland wearers. They were adopted as buckled shoes in the 17th and 18th century. Nowadays ghillie brogues are an essential part of any Scottish outfit.

We have various styles, including lace-up and slip-on, and are available in different colours, including black, brown, and tan. In general, ghillie brogue shoes have a shiny finish and long laces that are tied up the wearer's calves. We also produced shoes with tartan to give them a distinctly Scottish touch. Shoes have laces which tie across and should be twisted four times at the ankle level then taken behind with one twist before tying at the front. Lace remains just above the ankle and does not extend up the leg. Dancers can use these at parties for dancing and get through a lot of hours of dancing with them. With casual outfits, they can be worn as day wears.

Kilts for men have a wide variety of shoes to wear with kilts. Check our complete range of Ghillie Brogues today and shop now.
